IIS 5.0 produces HTTP 404 - File not found?

Hi all,

Could you please help with the above issue. I just installed IIS 5.0 from my Windows XP prof with SP2.

The following error message comes when I try to load my page

The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

HTTP 404 - File not found
Internet Information Services

I have tried to find a solution to the above errors through Microsoft website which provides very generic solutions - by resetting system registry, local log-in, etc. They are not helpful?

Could anyone help with this please?

After I created a virtual directory, I receive the following message?

HTTP 401.3 - Access denied by ACL on resource
Internet Information Services

I have been trying desparately to find solutions through Microsof website is not not helpful.

Could any expert in here point out what the problem is and give a simple solution?

I do appreciate your advice.
