switching from Access and .asp

How hard is it?

I'm looking at switching hosting companies, which is why this came up. I have a couple of .asp pages and Access DB's on my site currently for a comments system and stats system. It's hosted on a Windows NT environment and I'm looking at another company that only hosts Linux accounts so I would have to switch to mySQL and possibly PHP pages? How difficult is that to do, how much work would I be looking at, or should I just start over with php scripts instead?

Any other suggestions welcome as well..:)

Hi mikemac29 and welcome to WMW

Access - Mysql under ASP is very easy indeed in fact most of the code is exactly the same.

ask your new host do they support chillisoft.asp

The connection string is different for mysql.

On PHP I'm really just learning it myself but i sure one of the PHp guy can help you.

Why not find another host that is already using NT/2000 instead of having to rewrite all your code?

You can sticky mail me (click on my profile, then my name) and I'll talk you through it.
