Hi,

okay, this is what i know about the project:

1. starts in 8 days!
2. duration = 12 months
3. context: legacy code to .Net 2
4. language: c#

how much would you charge (hourly)? for 5+ years c#/SQL and certs and the rest.

i am thinking starting in 8 days is a little bit too much pressure!

$125 to $200 per hour.

Good ASP.NET developers are hard to come by. Especially those who are familiar with the SEO side of things.

You have job security if you are really good. You call the shots! ;)

thanks guys.

so it would be safe to say that for a long term contract it wouldn't be less than $100 /hour.

$200 would be great too :)

hmm, why are good asp.net coders hard to come by?

do you mean c# .net coders

or any

.vb.net, c++, j,,,,

On another note , is there a performance advantage to be had by using c# instead of v.net?

The core exam for MCTS and MCPD on .net 2.0 now requires you know the whole .net framework, even if you are only a web developer.

The old MCSD only required you know web development skills (if you chose web development pathway). So you could get certified without knowing windows programming.

Also the questions are now written to require real world experience to answer them.

So exam MCSDs will really struggle to upgrade their certs to .net 2.0 without having a photographic memory :) and leave the real developers to make all the money

I guess i'll have to stick to developing net 1.1 application for myself.

I was going to convert one of my applications to .net 2, but man, is it fussy!
