creating a large expandable microsoft web farm?

I can find articles by people like Live Journal on how they architect their web site backend to handle a lot of users. They don't use MS so their approaches don't directly apply.

I am looking for similar articles on how I can use MS technologies to build a scalable web farm for a service like Live Journal. After much googling and yahooing and awshucksing I haven't found anything very useful.

So I must be missing something. Does anyone here have any pointers for going to zero to large using MS tech?
