Synchronized logins in ASP.NET

Hello,

I have an internal site that needs to accept people's domain logins. One of the requirements is that, if they're already logged in to a machine with their network login, they go to the main page of the site automatically. Otherwise, they see a secured login page where they can enter their name and password.

I have a problem in that I know nothing about SSL and can't for the life of me seem to find a simple explanation. Can anyone give me a breakdown of the steps needed to set up SSL on just one page?

No need to use SSL. Just enable windows authentication in web.config and deny anonymous users. On an intranet this will cause IE to automatically authenticate with the logged in credentials.
