I have started the mail server in IIS, and I can send emails and I see them in the mail spool file.
However, I would like to have web-based access to the emails. Is that a 3rd party software I should install to allow that ability?
Also, I want to be able to use Outlook for POP and SMTP access. How do I get that all set up?
Any pointers to great resources with solid examples would be deeply appreciated!

There are also some free mail servers, but I didn't like the lack of features/protection etc.
The problem with using the Windows SMTP server is that it doesn't have a separate interface for managing users. I think all the users would have to be setup as users on the server itself, which I don't like. Same with the FTP server, better to go with an outside party.
The free version has all the features that an average user would need. Enhanced versions with extra features can be purchased.
