create a message board from scratch

could anyone point me in the right direction to build a message board from scratch in .NET for an intranet site.

No Problem:

- One Pound of database design
- 160 Pound of .Net Code (VB.Net or C#. I like the C# flavor better, but some people prefer the sweetness of VB.Net)
- Three full spoons of CSS
- A drop of eye candy
- (Optional) One teaspoon of Ajax to add some air to the site (otherwise it would become to solid)

Mix all the ingredients together by hand, let it rise a bit and put it a week or so in an oven preheated at 37 degrees Celsius or 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.

There's really no reason today to write one from scratch as there are tons of free ones available n all sorts of flavors.

Unless you want the practice and sheer thrill of doing it, I'd get a premade one and tweak.
