I run a static website, with absolute urls. But, I would like to use an asp.net application so that I can create a form that links to a database for data collection.
Any issues that I should look out for so that I dont screw up my SE rankings?
Is this pretty easy to do?
Any ideas, caveats, or other tips would be greatly appreciated.

You say in your title that this is a "a Unix-based site" - by that do you mean that the site is hosted on a Unix/Apache server? If so, if the site is static HTML, why not just move it over to an Microsoft/IIS server and just add your dynamic pages. Or am I misunderstanding the question here?

The site used to have dynamic urls and I had indexing problems. I made a deliberate move to unix to utilize mod rewrite and have absolute urls. I was told by my host that I can run an asp.net application for a single page (where my form will be) and leave the remaining pages in static/absolute url form.
I am trying to learn about this, if anyone here knows. '
