I will shortly be doing some .NET training with a view to doing some .NET development work in the near future. We will be using the C# flavour of ASP. Does anyone know of any good online tutorials or books I could read on the subject, to get me better prepared?

I can tell you that I favour the light-hearted approach to such technical subjects, and would prefer stuff along the lines of dummies guide / webmonkey etc. Dead serious programming books send me to sleep.

I started with:

[samples.gotdotnet.com...]

make sure in the upper right hand corner of the screen, you select C# in the pulldown next to the prompt "I want my samples in".

The samples didn't all work perfectly for me but this is a good place to get an understanding using c# examples.

I like the idea of books, but i can never be bothered with them, i prefer just getting into it and looking up on google or msdn when i have problems.

There is an excellent book i have used for reference, it was by Wrox i think it was called c# second edition or something like that, it was very good.
