Im trying to find out how to add a path to a folder in my host file.

You can't. Host files are the equivalent of DNS: They turn domain names into IP addresses. That's all they do.

So www.example.com gets translated into 127.0.0.1, for example. There is no way to turn them into a URL, or a protocol, or anything else.
