First of all --> HI guys :-)

This is my first post in here and im happy to join this very impressive forum!

Well, so this is my little issue:

I have been introduced to a company who is launching new business online and their former designer/programmer used .NET to create .aspx pages that look like this:

[domain.com...]

I know that some SE do not like ID's and question marks, though there are many other issues on this site but i'd like to know if there are solutions to create different URL's, removing ID's and '?'?

I just know of [xde.net...]

Is it worth it to buy it, is there a better solution?

Thanks for answers!

G.

followgreg,
Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Well you can either buy a component that will rewrite the url's for you, or you can use the .net built in rewrite deal. (Never used before) One last option is you can use a custom 404 page. Those are about the only three options that I know of for IIS.

Hi and welcome.

From what I've read here, SE's don't really care about the QueryString, as long as it is followable and the produced code is readable by spiders.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the tip macrost, i apreciate that ;)

Well, i did not get everything about what this guy did in the code yet. And...it's not my job, im there for SEO and they hired a new programmer.

Links are not the only problem in those pages. For exemple links are in cells, that are in cells, that are in cells... lol it's some kind of game i believe lol

Apparently spiders could not follow the links for one reaon or the other, i don't want to take any risk i prefer fix all i can :) since i know some that some SE really have hard times with dynamic pages, not major ones anymore of course.
