ASP Hanging...

How to debug this problem

Hi I just installed a new ASP 3.0 Content Mgt system on a Win 2K server. Now all of a sudden it seems like the ASP pages are sporadically hanging...

The PC technicians are blaming it on the new software. And I suspect that as well. But I called the software vendor, and of course they denied that their ASP code could have caused such a problem.

It seems that once this hanging starts all ASP code (code that has been stable for years even) hangs.

How can I go about debugging this? When we reboot and turn bugging on, I can never recreate the problem.

Two things I'd concentrate on: trying to find a reproducible case and monitoring. Look at the web server logs, and the performance logs on the web server. Make sure that you monitor everything in the web server. Then for performance monitoring look at Start¦Programs¦Administrative Tools¦Performance.
