How do I check that a permanent redirect is working correctly

I do not jave control over my IIS server, it is hosted at my ISP. I have asked him to redirect a file name www.mysite.com/index2.htm to www.mysite.com/

How can I check that he has done this properly as the page concerned has a high PR and is important to my site
