Network Drives

Is there a way in Windows Server 2003 that allows mapping to a network drive from a pc without being part of a domain but yet being secure?

I know you can do it through http or ftp but I've not read anything about doing it through https or ssl.

There are 3rd party apps out there that claim to be able to do it but I still think that there must be a way with Windows 2003 server.

Anyone implemented a way?

look up the vpn capabilities in the server help

vpn=virtual private network

the server looks like it's on the local lan
when you do this, everything goes over the
wire encrypted.

Have you (or anyone else) implemented this solution?

I am in the understanding that all traffic will have to go through the VPN once you are connected. I don't know if I need to be encrypting someones web brousing data or msn conversations for example.

Basically looking at a secure mapped drive that is accessed through My Computer that can be accessed over the public internet. All other traffic would follow it's regular course.
