Creating a sub domain using IIS

Is there a way of having a folder:

[blah.com...]

as a sub domain like:

[pi.blah.com...]

Using Windows IIS 5.1?

I don't know about IIS, but using ASP you could simply use the Request.ServerVariables("SERVER_NAME") variable.

In your case, it would contain "pi.blah.com", so you could redirect to the appropriate subdirectory.

asssuming your are runnning your dns and iis services:
first you need to create a dns entry (Host "A" record) for pi.blah.com which is an entry under the blah.com zone just like the www entry but may or may not point to the same ip

next you need to create a new website right click websites in iis choose new then website, but you need to specify a host header value for that website (pi.blah.com)

then go the website properties and edit settings under Home Directory to make content come from same or different directory used by www.blah.com/pi/ website

But, ifyou consider PR, you may wish use different content for different hosts, or use only www.example.com rather than
www.example.com and example.com
