Hi All,

I am confused with the licencing of MS - SQL Server 2000. I hope someone can shed more light on it.

I am looking into buying a copy of SQL Server for a .NET based system. The single processor server(win2K pro) has SQL Server installed on it (evluation version) and it works great with my system.

There are 10-15 other machines who can use the system using DSN connection to the database using .NET envionment. We might go online with this application in the future.

Which licence should I buy for MS-SQL Server? There are processor based and client (e.g 25 CAL) based licences. Can I go with the single processor version? Can I use it for the above application successfully?

Thanks,
N

If you go online and open it up for internet use then you will need the processor licence. If my interpretation of microsoft licencing is correct.

IanTurner's understanding of the licensing agrees with mine - I believe you'll need the processor license as well.
