how can i open .idx files

i m in problem i dont know how to open .idx files...is there any software avaliable for it..please guide me how to open .idx and .dat files

are you looking at winmail.dat files? these are caused by an issue with outlook's seending of html emails with attatchments i think. if this is the case youll have to resend the attatchement and make sure the message is plain text format.

it seems there are many programs that create .idx files - outlook being one of them. do a search for 'file extensions' - there are lots of sites dedicated to explainations of what extension goes with what program.
