SES Local - yet another thread.

Deciding whether to go

Sorry to flog this horse again, but I'm just now deciding whether to go to SES Denver. Travel's a bit of a hassle for me for a 1 day conference. Add that to the $595 admission and I'm vacilating. Never been to a SES, let alone a Local event. Any comments to help nudge me off the fence?

I should add a word about my situation. I've done successful local visibility work for a single B&M that I have finacial interest in. Now I'm playing with some ideas about creating a business model around that to attract additional local clients.

Any comments will be appreciated.

If you are serious about growing your business, then in general, if you are the right person, these events are quite helpful, RossWal. It is all up to you what you can/will make of it.

Your concerns were exactly my own. I hope to hit the next one. Bill Slawski and I are pushing for one on the East Coast next. I'm passing....but I think Chicago is correct.

It would be great to see this repeated on the east coast in a few months, or at least more attention to local search in New York next year. I believe that some of the local search offerings in San Jose were scaled back because of this conference.

Thanks for your comments folks. I decided to go and so I'm looking forward to trying to put some faces to the names I see here! Not sure yet how I'll make that happen, but if you see a guy in a pink Bozo wig and wearing a sunflower in his lapel, please be sure to say Hi!
