Yahoo Local Map Ads

Is it just me or are they poorly designed?

I love local.yahoo.com. To me, it is the best design of any local portal. That being said, there are just some things as an advertiser I can't stand. It just makes me scratch my head and wonder what they where thinking. The first one was the way they display local overture ads. Instead of sending paid click to my own site they sent them to framed versions. I canceled that as soon as I saw it. No way I will ever pay for a click to a framed version of my site.

Now they are adding local ads to maps. The normal listings are yellow and very obvious. But the paid locations are grey with a dot. Even being very informed about online ads, it took me many views before I realized the little grey icons on they yahoo maps where locations to click. Why wouldn't they make them more noticable, or at least, AS noticeable as the non paid versions.

Am I alone on such thinking?
