Here in the UK we can't see it online, the URL leads you to a GoDaddy parking page, and the WHOIS says it is registered by somebody hiding behind domainsbyproxy.com. As if somebody has nicked the domain.
Where has ip2location gone, when are they coming back? We are subscribed to this service.
Being UK based we researched a few GeoIP providers and found the offerings to be very hit and miss (with the emphasis on miss).
We know it's difficult due to the IP infrastructure in the UK but we've never found a reliable provider (since we target to very specific areas).
As an example, my IP shows as the Isle of Man when I'm actually in Scotland! (Although some providers do get much closer).
Any info would be appreciated.
The .org version of the site is there but is unusably slow and you can't do remote IP lookups through it either as yet it seems.
Cannot contact them either because they only give an email address @ip2location.com as a contact point.
As to accuracy, we use it for country-level lookups to check visitors. Although probably not 100% accurate (UK/US confusion sometimes), it is accurate enough for our purposes, and has helped us cut down on fraud considerably.
