city search terms, where to find them

I use #*$!, but can't seem to figure out how to find a top 10 list (or whatever) of searched for cities in the United States.

Does anyone have this kind of information?

I was thinking something like so:
1) dallas texas
2) key west, fl
3) new york city
4) san fransisco
5) ...
6) ...

so that I wouldn't have to go through wordtracker and manually enter every other city in the nation?

grab the top 30 cities by population, think about how query behavior changes on the basis of a geo's charecteristics.

and/or take a root, find geo's that register for that root looking at historical trends. works perfectly.

in the end, how you chose to use this data will dictate how you gather it and analyse it.

if you dont care about the details, just use population. it is very close to aggregate query volume. or just take a geo breakdown from a major who segments by city.

The other option if you want to do a bit more work (Chicago's idea works very well) is to input the single major keyword for your vertical and then see what geographic the various keyword services bring back.

This can be useful for areas like California who often search by county name, or areas where they search for abbreviations (NYC).
