In teaming with Yahoo!, Dex will extend its local advertiser content to yet another digital platform. Currently, businesses that purchase Dex print advertising also receive placement on DexOnline.com, one of the leading providers of Internet Yellow Pages within Dex's 14-state region. This content will now be made available on Dex's growing digital network, which includes Yahoo! Yellow Pages and Yahoo! Local.

On another note, somehow I missed that Dex did a deal with Yahoo in December [forbes.com...]

Dex offers a service where they will buy keywords for a business on Overture (guess I need to get used to calling it Yahoo) and AdWords.

I'm not sure if this is the same program but it sounds like it.

Bah, me and my typos. The last line of my post should be "Dex did a deal with Google in December"

It is not the same deal. The deal you are referring to is one between Dex and SMEGlobal to provide a guaranteed simplified clicks package.

This deal is one of distribution, namely ~ for Y! local properties including YP and Local and Dex advertisers.

This deal is win-win-win-win.

~Win for Y! in serving comprehensive local business listings.
~Win for Dex in augmenting current distribution channels with new tier one local inventory.
~Win for the user who is served more relevant result sets through local y utilities.
~Win for the advertiser in expanding the reach of their advertiser dollar.

The real meat here is in another example of a telco going direct to the se. Something that few have done without an intermediary, namely trafficleader or smeglobal.

Anyone see the recent announcement of SmartPages, RealPages, and YellowPages, simplified clicks program through trafficleader? Certainly worthy of a thread.
