I have read in the forums that if someone used Zeus to send them a link request email, they ignore it.
How can someone tell if Zeus was actually used to send the email? Is it only by looking at the directory style of the senders website? Or is there some clue in the email header?

It's the 4,786 other emails I get that look and read exactly like it. Take the time to send a real personal email.
