linking to big sites

how long does this take?

I am interested in a piece of an earlier thread, re: eventually catching the eye of the bigger sites to really drive the traffic. I am curious as to how long it takes to accomplish this goal.

Depends on a lot of things - your industry, quality of your site, etc.

A rule of thumb could be to ask yourself - if i was one of those big sites - who would i link to?
