How many inbound links should I aim for?

I figure that there isn't a limit on the number of quality inbound links I amass. But how many do you have?

Somewhat subjective in that a mnay as possible.

Although goal setting is good. I would start with spending an hour per day researching 10, and attempting to develop 5 for about 20 days per month.

At a 100/month (new links)... you'll be a fairly recognized site less than a year.
