How do I get thousands of reciprocal links?

Is there any way to getting thousands of reciprocal links quick?

I want to exchange links for a horoscope directory I run, (it's in my profile) with as many web sites as possible. The theme is not important because most people love reading horoscopes. All sites except adult, warez, link farms are acceptable. Our link page is arranged systematically and actually sends traffic.

Is there any way I can reach out to thousands of webmasters without using Zeus or any other link automation software?

Any suggestions?

You realy need to do this the hard way and contact webmasters. If there was an easy way im afraid we would all be doing it. on your site use some sales methods in an attempt to encourage people to link to you. Have images that they can use by simply copy paste some html code.. It all takes time but is worth it in the end.

If you are not bothered about the theme of the site that links to you and are happy with most general sites try a search on google for..

"if you would like your link here please email us"

You'll see:
Don't participate in link exchanges for the sole purpose of increasing your ranking in search engines.
If you intend to participate in a massive link exchange simply to inflate your pagerank you might want to delete the link on your profile b4 Googleguy sees it.

mack, thanks, I know of that way, I've used other phrases like "add url" + astrology with some success.

fiffy, I am not trying to boost my PR. I'm looking for traffic from the links themselves in return for sending those sites some traffic myself. It has worked on a smaller scale, now I want to scale it up.

gaining links is all about hard work... if you offer good content then the linksk will come for sure... all the best with your site.

welcome to the world of Google, btw, a very relevant question.

Links used to be for directing visitors to other webpages and sites.

Enter Google dominance and links are considered "votes".

So primary school popularity came into place. Who gets most votes and is most popular? This got out of hand through artificial mass linking link-farm generation. Google fighted this by penalising extensive interlinking of many sites all interlinking to each other (the PR0 penalty).

The thing to do now, is to be more critical to whom you link yourself. No problem in having hundreds of links to your site, because in many cases you have no influence on that. But if the mass of outbound links you are offering your visitors from your site are towards webpages, again all interlinking to each other, without a good chunk of new relevant fresh webpages, non related to this link-farm , you are asking for trouble.

In essence Google is saying that - linkwise - you are offering your visitors no extra insight over and above these already existing sites.

Yes, viteaplease, I agree and which is why you'll find my links page has links to web sites which offer content of some sort, they could be dating sites or personal sites or metaphysical sites,
search engines listed under category headings, none of them are link farms or ffa sites. I'm not opting for Zeus or one of those link exchanges because this is a great deal of interlinking there.

We have no automated forms for this that will crawl and check a return link, it is all done by a person.

If I'm going wrong somewhere, I can correct my method or drop this idea altogether, I'll hate to lose google traffic for no reason.
I'd like to have Googleguy's views on this.
