this might be old stuff, however, i thought i'd pass along a technique i came up with that has been working well for me(reinventing the wheel?) in my efforts to get sites to link to mine. i go to the google 'advanced search' and put my identifying/keyword in search box and in the "exact phrase" box i type the phrase "add a link." this selects for sites in my category that are amenable to linking externally. if nothing else, it's free, so it can't hurt to give it a shot, i suppose.

Nice...

The other method is to do a backlink check on your best competitors and solicit links from people who are linking to them.

Uh-oh, it's happy hour in San Francisco! Gotta go!

I like your idea martinibuster....getting the links where the competitors are getting it from...

less work...and better results ;)!

I know this two methods but I'm wondering if there are more ways to get links. I mean, more ways to find sites with link pages besides the two mentioned.

Any thoughts?

Personally, I prefer links from sites without links pages. I'd rather be one of a handful of outbound links.

(I find them by searching for related web sites.)

Hi dcheney, but if they haven't links page from wich part of the site will they link to you? How do you ask for the link?
