But I think I've noticed a change, a trend perhaps, whereby I'm receiving far fewer of the reciprocal link request emails. I was wondering if others are noticing it too?

Perhaps it is due to your new criteria of accepting links? Did you notice the change after you dumped your old list? Not being in the "collective" may have something to do with it?

My theory is that things are slow in Summer and for me my formmail script hasn't been working for a few months. Most of the requests are junk anyway.
