What is the difference between Google back-links and Yahoo back-links?

What is the methodology behind back-link counting/sorting

Hi All,

As many seo toolbar & applications shows different different types/amount of back-links as google back-link and yahoo back-link.

or as I have been watching with my directory submission report almost 51% of submissions has approved and online. But if i am looking at the Google webmaster tools account its not showing all of them.

So what is the terminology behind this, Please suggest!

Waaah. The true yahoo backlink search, the one outside of Site Explorer, just disappeared. Yahoo India was still showing it outside of site explorer until yesterday. I heard that Yahoo Russia is still showing non-se results. It's too bad.
