How do I check how many external links I have going to be site

I am trying to google webmaster tools and am unable to do it

I am using safari on a mac

You can check the WooRank tool, and you can verify how many external links you have.

There are several tools you can use. Google Webmaster Tools is a great resource though and you should be able to get a good idea with it. Whats not working with it.

Other tools would be:
Yahoo Site Explorer: Do a yahoo query with like this linkdomain:wwwexample.com

Also try [opensiteexplorer.com ]

wel, with google webmaster tools, what exactly do I press to find out who is linking to me, that would be called external links correct

Google WMT has started showing more data for in bound links. Also a combination of Y! and Google WMT could create a comprehensive report.

I will recommend to install SEO Quick Search Status on your firefox as an add-on.

seems you can check your site at Alexa and find "site linking in"
