SEO friendly widget

Hi

I have to make a "sort of" widget with an image and few links which I want to control myself.

Now when we know that stuff like JS,Flash or iFrame are not going to serve the purpose of backlinking,how can I achieve my goal. Can I call a php file via script tag which will be returning Javascript in return?

Or any other idea?

Google crawls Javascript links as long as there is a url it can see, and also crawls iframes.

I put all JS offpage, in a .js file; that seems to keep them out.
