Hi All,
I have a question regarding blog posting, i have an ecommerce website (example.com) by which i am selling gifts for UK market. I have creating a new domain with the same domain with added blog into it (exampleblog.com), it's a separate one domain. Now i am writing unique content blog and submitted on that domain and linked our websites with relevant keywords. So could anybody suggest me this is right process of blogging or will i different different blogs with relevant keywords in wordpress or blogger and then submitted these post into it with our websites links.
I will appreciate if someone guides me for the same.

Many thanks,

Well, I would not recommend a different domain for your blog. Usually the best option for a blog is a subfolder or sub domain of your existing domain.

www.example.com/blog OR

The first is in my opinion the best, because every links you will get to your blogs from other sites/blogs will contribute DIRECTLY to the authority your site will get from those links.
Sub-domain is also good, although we're not too sure how Google differentiate subfolder and subdomain. I read about a test from SEOMOZ saying that keywords in subfolder give value, and keywords on subdomain do not.

To answer your question, having a blog in a completely different domain name is not recommended for sure. Every links from your blog to your site will be discounted at some point. Google likes diversity!

If you want to blog from a different domain then it shouldn't be on the same IP address and not owned by you. It needs to be a legitimate blog, i.e. it can't keep blogging only about one site. It doesn't need to link to your competitors but must certainly have content about your niche without linking to your site every time. This will help it to grow a natural following from real people, not just Googlebot.
