How valuble is a link from AOL news?

Just how valuable is a "do follow" link from someone like AOL? ie say you make headlines on one of aols blogs from an aol editor.

Or cnn or new york times. Any one of those but specifically AOL.

What can I expect it to do for my rankings? I know its a broad question but Id like to hear any or all possibilities.

Im not as concerned about the traffic it will bring as much as I am the PR (google juice) it will give to my website.

A link like the one you're talking about might move a site from a PR0 to a PR1. If you're already higher than a PR1 you will not see any difference, it's noise.

Considering you're not the only site to be linked by AOL... do you honestly think it's really going to make a difference?

How many other sites does AOL 'link' to? :)

I doubt very much its easy to get link from aol headlines or aol news. That tells me its valuable. Plus it is an authority site. doesnt that alone count for something?

Billy was right. You might not get a huge pr jump from it.

But I don't know that this is what you would be hoping for anyway, isn't it traffic and rankings that you would hope to get?

I would assume that a link from any of those websites, so long as it is dofollow and within context, is wroth some trust to you.

Cain IV hit the nail on the head. Don't worry about PR juice from a link. Good links bring trust, which is more important.

We're a PR5 now (I think - we spent a lot of time at 4...). But we get 10 times the traffic we did when we were a PR6.
