A few days ago I've posted some links to my sites in various forums(and thankfully,those links are still there).However,
for some reason I don't see some of those links neither in my cpanel in "links from external sites",nor in my SEO toolbar(that uses Yahoo),although I clicked on all of them.Could it be that for some reason some of the links I've posted "don't count",or is it just a matter of time till they appear?

1. Links shown to you by search engines are never a complete record

2. Backlinks reported by search engines do not necessarily mean they are counted by the algorithm, either 100%, partially, or at all.

3. The backlink counts aren't generally updated that quickly

The best way to determine the efficacy of a link is if your ranking bounces around within a week or so. But don't worry about how good your acquisition is, just keep moving.

Have you checked to see if the page with your link has been indexed i.e cache:URL

Its a good idea to check/analyze the SEO value of the page where you have posted your link;
Whether its crawled/indexed or not and if at all that page is crawlable/indexable by search engine robots

In addition look-up if your link is nofollow or dofollow.

If all is well, then as suggested by martinibuster -- it takes time for newly acquired links to show up as backlinks.

Hope that helps!
