Which matters - the PR of the homepage or the referring page?

Hello, gurus!

I'm sure this has been brought up, but I can't seem to find it.

When I do a link exchange with someone whose site content is relevant to mine, which is more important - the PR of their homepage or the PR of the links page that they will list me on?

Thanks for reading!

In short, the PR of the refering page is what matters.

A longer answer involves looking at how many links are on that page.

A PR2 page with 5 outbound links may be better than a PR 5 page with 500 outbound links.

Opinions about this stuff vary though.

neither.. if the link is relevant, get it regardless of the PR. PR changes as sites age. Disregard PR and focus on relevancy. If the link is relevant, get it.
