Yahoo directory link not showing up

I recently submitted a link on a yahoo business directory, and I don't see it showing up in my Google Webmaster Tools backlink checker. I heard that Yahoo was one of the best directories out there- why would it now show up? Does this mean that it's not helping my site?

Thanks!

Is your link actually in Yahoo! or just submitted?

Have you checked on Yahoo! Site Explorer?

yes, i found it on the directory, so i know it's there. isn't that proof enough?

Is the Y Directory page cached by Google?

If yes, give it some time. It will show on Google Webmaster Tools backlinks.

If no, then Google will probably not show it as a backlink until it is cached.

hmm...how would I know if it is cached by Google? I only know how to check if it's cached via the search engine...but that wouldn't work in this case. any suggestions?

Use this syntax:

cache:Yahoo directory page URL

Or take a look in Webmaster Tools.

you're right...that page of the yahoo directory hasn't been crawled in about a month. hopefully it'll get some love any minute, and then we'll see.

Has the Yahoo directory page been crawled yet?

NO! The cache says it was last crawled on July 1, and it still hasn't been recrawled since! I'm beginning to wonder if I wasted that money...

If you can, send a link to it from a page that gets crawled frequently. That may help.

I am not aware of any places on the Yahoo! Directory that you can choose your own page to place it on. If there is one, I'd love for you to tell me about it please.

I mean, send a link to the Yahoo directory page that lists your site from another site that gets crawled frequently. This may help Google visit and cache the Y Dir page more frequently.

It's finally there (for anyone still interested). Thanks for the help!
