ODP Clones -- Good or Bad for Link Popularity?

When a site is listed in the ODP that is obviously a good thing (especially to Google). Yet, when that same ODP category feed is than taken from dmoz.org and branded under a zillion other names, does anyone know whether those additional copies (with the exact same duplicate link and description text) is considered to be of a quality that actually helps a site?

Of course, there is really not much anyone can do to control these links in either case (ODP Clones most likely won't change or remove the links just because you were to ask them to anyways); but, I'm just kinda curious what others here think about them. Of what value do you personally consider them? Thanks for the feedback.

Since you have no control over clone sites they don't hurt but few help. (lots and lots turn out to be PR0 sites).

As AllTheWeb tends to crawl anything and everything - a monthly routine (after crawls) any clones sites that are not in google I help by submitting.

Most do tend to be PR0 but have succesfully found PR4 to PR6 often, a couple of PR7's and 1 PR8 that Google did not know about which all help to improve site authority standings.

Can be very time consuming but the advantages are well worth the effort.

My experience is that Google ditches ODP clones when it finds them. Often they stay in the index for a month and then disappear the next.
