clearinghouse for image content

any sites that offer free content?

Hi, a noob here, to this board and to site promotion in general. Not sure if this is the best forum to ask this question, but here goes.

Our site provides lots of content that would be useful to post on other sites. Anyone can download our images or embed our Flash movies (of maps) at no charge. We'd like people to do that to promote our site and bring traffic back to it.

Are there any sites where webmasters go to find image content like this where I could post a notice? Sort of like the sites where people go for freeware, etc.

Some webmasters could be wary of using 'free' content as it might come back to bite them if it ever turned out the content wasn't free and they were hit with charges and/or legal action...

Although perhaps I'm just paranoid :-)

Yes, it is original content, at least the images are. The data for the maps come from public domain sources, mostly government, plus some others that we verify as restriction-free, such as news release content. But that's an important point that I'll be sure to stress when I offer the content. Thanks for bringing it up.
