What is the best way to distribute widgets?
I tried personal emails. I tried also directories submission and to contact people in forums related to the widget subject.
Do you have other recommendations?
I can't use services like Widgetbox and Gigya because they wrap the widget as flash and then I lose the SEO value of the widget.

Does anyone have an idea for me!?

Thanks!

blog outreach; find relevant high authority blogs on technorati; start sending emails.

you may want to put together a nice 2 to 3 paragraph abstract describing the widget. personalize the rest;

cite one to a few specific posts that relate and what you think about them; and ask the blogger to use the widget or advise him/her that it may be of interest to his/her audience to get links pointing to the widget. try to hit as many as you can; it's a numbers game.

Thanks.
I am looking for other ways than sending emails to bloggers.
Do you have anything in mind?

Thanks again,

Print, Radio, and TV ads work pretty good. Flyers on windshields in parking lots.

Or a bang up got to find website with really good original content for your widgets also works. And Email, blogs, or getting a local newspaper to write about you.

There's no magic bullet and there's no guarantee the web will do anything. Keep on plugging is the best way. Or find another widget.

explore opportunities on social media platforms that can expose you to other bloggers who may link to you if your story is promoted to popularity.

don't know how much creative control you have over editing that flash wrapper, but swfaddress allows you to add indexable content into flash files

how to use seo mechanism to add indexable content into flash and ajax

this adobe article also discusses some options to ensure content is crawled in flash files:

Based on your available data structure, ensure that the SWF content can also be displayed in the HTML source for each unique URL. If possible, utilize XSL to transform your XML source to create both the HTML and SWF content, embedding the text in the HTML source by using the <noscript> method.
