2 Anchor Text Backlink Questions. Please Help.

I was wondering when obtaining backlinks in anchor text from squidoo, Do I have to index the squidoo lens first? I’m thinking that I do, so I don’t want to continue to waste my time getting them without indexing the Lenses first.

I guess what I mean is do anchor text links that are obtained from sites (lens, blogs, etc) that are not indexed count?

2nd question

I’m trying to index them but I am having trouble… Usually The sites I have get indexed within a week or less. I submitted to dig mixx etc… the directories (digg mixx etc) are indexed but not the lens’s… I read in another forum to ping the directories (digg mixx etc.) but are there any other suggestions?

First question. It's good that you used the words 'waste my time and 'squidoo' in the same sentence.

You really have two options. Either count on the lens getting indexed eventually as a result of the assumed trust/authority of the site, or you need to drive links yourself at your lens page. I suspect however that you're simply being anxious. If it was me, I'd wait 3 weeks or more before seeing if the lens actually got indexed before assuming it didn't get indexed.

2nd question. It's not clear if you're talking about getting your site indexed, or the lens indexed. But assuming you mean your site, then it's just a matter of degree. More links, and better links means you will get indexed faster. So get more and better links. It seems like you may have 'more' links figured out, it seems like you don't have 'better' though :).

Two suggestions. First, there's a homepage thread here that talks about getting a site indexed faster in Google. Read it. Secondly, grow some patience. If you're actually going to make money from a site then you need to probably take longer than a week. I've had pages on my site indexed in < one day, but I've also seen it take days or weeks. So be patient, put up your content, put links to it, and let Google do the rest.

Thanks wheel. I have site that is already indexed So I'm trying to get anchor text links from Squidoo(that's the only reason I'm using them).

I am aware of the "better" part though.. I'm just doing some experimenting though to see what works best. Of course no one is going to show me all there secrets so...I have to try and learn on my own and with forums like this. I'm kind of new to IM. I've only caught on to the concept of IM about 4 months ago. So far I am a MASTER of the second page of Google :).

Some of the directories I submited to are on the first page of Google, and for other long tails I'm on the first page for the site(s) but not for the Main Keywords I want...Yet!

I'll check out the home page that you suggested although I think I've already read it. Usually I use Yahoo answers and get indexed quick, but I keep getting this error 999 now or something like that every time I try to answer, so I think that has something to do with it as well.

Thanks again for the response!

So basically the question is - does a squidoo lense without external backlinks get indexed. I'm not sure of the answer. Perhaps squidoo adds all lenses to a sitemap or some type of feed that Googlebot can see.

Thanks BradleyT. Well I guess if I check my backlinks I will find out sooner or later. It seems as though I will have to start getting more back links for my squidoo lens's as well as my site for now.

I'm just trying to get to the first page for a niche for about 18000 sites with quotations. I was on the second page of Google then I added some links out to a few of my articles to see if that would help to (I heard somewhere that this "could" help). I got dropped to the 4th page as a result. I since then have removed them and am now on the third page.

I want to accomplish this as a foundation for what I need to do in order to get to the first page of Google so that I can rinse and repeat it for other niches. I am trying to stay white hat for this.

I think I am going to restart my forum marketing campaign as well to get more backlinks and hopefully make a few sales in the process to see how that works. Article marketing helps but it can be time consuming and not everyone will approve your articles.

Can you recommend any places to buy good permanent anchor text backlinks? Do you think it's worth it?

Yes. Will we? No :).

Don't take this wrong. Everything you're suggesting you do so far, I would consider low end trash links. I don't want to sound monotone, but I suggest you read all the threads here for the last year or two. This should give you ideas (not specific recommendations, but general ideas) on how to get higher quality links that are individualized for your sites. And I believe that higher quality and more individualized link strategy will help your rankings more so than what you're doing now.

LoL...

I know good back links are hard to find though that's why I'm dealing with these types of "low end" links for now. I'm going to try:
facebook.com
Twitter.com
Myspace.com

for now and continue my search to buy Quality Permanent Anchor Text Backlinks. I have two jobs and no computer. I use my jobs and my wife's (when she's not on it)plus my job blocks certain sites, so my time and resources are limited.

Don't get me wrong I have a lot of places that I've just now started to utilize like yahoo blogs etc... but as a semi-beginner I have to Take what I can get until I learn better ways. I'll check out your suggestions for now as well though.

fyi: don't know about facebook and myspace, but i know twitter links are nofollow;

social media platforms are good sources of link bait if you have a following with which to communicate your content. if they help you support it to popularity - retweets, in twitter's case - then you have a platform from which blogs and webmasters can draw for relevant one-way links.

check the HTML (View Source or get a Add-on).

Nofollow can be at the link level or in the header (to nofollow all links)

>>>Still a wet behind th ears.

Yah, saw your other post [webmasterworld.com] stating how your ranking tanked. I strongly suggest reading through the Link Development Library [webmasterworld.com] all the way to the very first post. It's a FREE manual for link development. A gift. If you're serious about being a success then you must read it, read it all, and think about it. Your ears will be drier afterward. ;)

The link development library is one of the best repositories of link building knowledge online and it's absolutely FREE. Everybody who wants to build something on the web should take a few days to read every single post in there. It's like free money.

Will do. Thanks That's the second time, I've heard that. I have been reading the link development Section (not as much as I should though, I admit).

But I've been working as well. Before I Start another project I'll be sure to read the whole link Development Forum first. Just trying to budget time with Job(s)/forum marketing/Article Marketing/Family.

Hopefully one day soon, I'll be able to generate enough income to quit my Second Job and concentrate more on IM and SEO.

Thanks

Well, you don't need to read the entire forum, but the Link Dev Library [pubcon.com] itself is a must read.

You're starting off fine. Work on your projects at night, grow that over the course of a year or two, or maybe more. If you have a good project with legs you'll get to the point where you can work from home. Don't worry so much about the marketing until you have a good finished project to put out there.

just to address your do follow/no follow dilemma; if you focus on driving targeted traffic when building inbound links you don't have to worry about do follow/no follow:

[webmasterworld.com...]

there are many sources for converting traffic other than the search engines.

thanks for the link. I've actually read that thread before however I did pick up a few things that I overlooked before. The sand box Link is one of the LONGEST tread's I've ever seen (318 pages)... I still haven't finished reading it. I will have to do so after I finish reading the Link Development forum.

I'm about 11 pages in and I just realized that the Link Dev Forum and Library are differnt...lol I was in such a rush to complete the reading... I'm just going to read the whole form though and comback to the Link Dev Library to make sure I got all the good stuff..Or maybe read the Library first and then come back to the Link Dev Forum.

What are your thoughts on this? Link Forum or Library first?
