Looking for a site that provides a place for people to find reciprocal link

I was wondering if there is a site where people can go and sort through related websites and email the web masters about possibly reciprocal links between there sites?

The best way is to search the engines for similar sites using your set of keywords and phrases, then contact applicable sites from there.

There have been some excellent threads here about doing just that, have a read through the thread in this forum and you should get some very good ideas.

Thanks, for the tip i just spent the last hour going through sites and emaling them we will have to see if there are any friendly webmasters out there :)

A technique that has worked well for me is to check who links to my "competitors". This works well for a hobby site, might be less productive for a comercial site, but should still give some pointers. From Google do:

link:competitor.com

The same command works with AltaVista and AllTheWeb.

Note that "link" is singular, not plural as you might perhaps expect.

The problem I have found is that a lot of webmasters don't understand the poing of linkage, especially with a competitor, or if they do, then their boss doesn't and will refuse to link with a direct competitor. Mad, I know!

Backus is right of course with “a lot of webmasters don't understand the point of linkage” and we all battle that in some way or another. There really is an art to linking these days and one that’s best to think and plan for before you jump into it. To even begin to realize the significance of linking read through some of the horror stories about PR0 and then look for discussions about bad neighborhoods. Hopefully that won’t scare you off because linking is very important, you just have to know what it’s about and have a plan for how you’re going to approach it.
