Hi all,

One of the main things i do online is SEO. Getting my site and a few others i do (for a web design company) the SEO on to get higher in the search engines.

I'm relatively new to the industry in terms of doing it professionally and i dont have a budget. I need to do everything for free.

So far, i think i have done quite well, i have reached pages 1 and 2 on google for my own site on a number of phrases in about a 18-20 months. And helped improve on a couple of other sites.

Now i feel i've reached a dead end, but theres still something out there that can help me improve. I've submitted sites to every possible directory and search engine, tried swapping links where possible but the results just haven't come out.

Some of the sites i've only started on in the past month, so theres bound to be delay in search engine results...but i've kinda ran out of places to look for other sites to link to.

Or am i just been too one track minded on back links and theres other seo tricks to get these sites on top of google.

I have IBP and Arelis software to help optimise the pages.

But i feel like i'm stuck.

Any ideas?

:)

Check your competitor's backlinks. That will give you two things to look for:
- sometimes if they link to your competitors, they will link to you to.
- check the backlinks of the sites that link to your competitors. More ideas to be found there.

Run searches on terms you want to rank for and go back a few hundred results looking at the serps. Sometimes there's sites that rank (or rank poorly) that will also give you a link.

There's plenty more, but what you should be doing is mining places, lists, and serps to look for one way links.

One of the tricks to getting to the top of Google is to have a really good site. Maybe take a break from link development and work on content development for a while.
