How to get Links

I would like to get some advice regard link

Hi people

I am failrly new , I would like to get some advice regard link

1.how would I go on to get incoming links, what are my first steps
2.would incoming link help me on my ranking

Links do matter. If there are none, then the SEs may nor even find your site.

But beyond that, it's Quality links that count these days. Little point in fishing around and swapping links with strangers - that's more likely to get you a ban than good rankings.

The best place to start is by submitting your site to quality directories; read their submission guidelines first, and don't submit to directories that ask for a reciprocal link. Ever.

In the long term, sites attract their own links, by 'being a site people choose to link to' ... but that's in the future.

Start with the Quality directories. :)
