Are single page links better than site wide links? If there is a real difference then could some one explain it to me in simple terms?

I think by sitewide you mean a link from every page of a website. Well, my understanding is that each page on the web has its own power so they are great. Just one link is better than nothing but it does not do much unless it is from a high PR page.

Yes thats correct what I meant is site wide links is the same link to the same site on every page.
I think it is better to not have site wide links and as you said each page has a individual rank so you need to have different links on different pages.
