Link Anchor Including Tags

Just a quick question. Someone has linked to me thus:

<a href=http://www.mywidgetsite.com><span class=linkspan>Widgets</span></a>

Does the inclusion of CSS within the anchor text devalue the link in SEO terms in your opinion?

My guess is know it wouldn't make a difference as long as it is spiderable. If you're concerned you could always as the webmaster to make the link more standard.
