Hi dear webmasters,

I just acquired couple links that have better pr than mine. It has been almost 2-3 weeks. I was wondering when these links take into place. I know there is no certain answer for this as there are many variables.

But any comments or experiences I would appreciate.

Thanks :)

Hi Pizzaguy,

I'm also building links for my new website. I've also got some webmasters to link to my site.

When I use Google to check for backlinks, they don't show.
When I use Yahoo (http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/) to check for backlinks, I can see these sites linking to me.

I don't know why Google doesn't pick up these backlinks the way Yahoo does. Maybe it takes more time. And also Google has been known to show only a sample of backlinks instead of all backlinks. So maybe my number of backlinks is not large enough for google to show a sample.

Hi Powerup,

Yes even though google picks up those backlinks it wont show on their results. However, my questions was when it affects to my web site. In terms of pr, serp, etc.

Hi,

As I know, google robots refesh their database once a month. Maybe later in the end of this month your backlinks will take effect.

Just my opinion, hope useful...

>>>When I use Google to check for backlinks, they don't show.

Google only shows a random set of links. So don't depend on Google to show you everything they know because they don't.

>>>As I know, google robots refesh their database once a month.

Google refreshes their index several times a month. They've become really good about fresh results.

If you have any more questions about Google, please post them in the Google Search Forum, you'll receive better answers there. The Link Development forum is about developing links, not how Google handles them. ;)
