.info domains versus .com

Are the cheap extensions considered spammy?

I'm aware that .gov and .edu links are considered to be more valuable than commercial extensions and I'm wondering if links from .info domains are worthless or does Goo consider them to be no different from a .com or .net?

Search engines aren't fussy. No worries there at all.

The only differences are in the eye of the (human) beholder - and some browsers favour .com too.

There's an extremely good discussion about .info domains currently happening here...

Who would buy or build a website on a .info domain these days?
Do .info domains have a bad reputation? Can a .info website become popular?

It's not the domain extension that makes a link good. It is the neighborhood it's in. A link from a .edu or .gov is not valuable or helpful in itself. This is a myth.

Any link that has many natural backlinks, and has great content (naturally it will) is a valuable link regardless of the domain extension.

It's not the domain extension that makes a link good.
