Increasing Backward Links

Hi, I am doing some SEO activites like directory submissions (Paid/Free), Article submission, Blogging, Forum Participation, Socail Bookmarking of the site, will this help me to increase my backward links, i am aware of reciprocal linking & one-way linking however i will do it on a later stage

Participation on other sites will definitely get you noticed. Especially if you have something unique/interesting to say. Leave your link there, and people will follow. Eventually, if your site is good, people will link to it on their own.

Active participation always helps. Try to build a reputation in the social bookmarking sites, networks, blogs - to be remembered and noticeable there.
