Value of Text Links

How to estimate what to charge?

I was asked for a paid link and I wondered what factors I should consider to fix a price.

Somebody told me that 100 visitors equal 1 Dollar, ie., a page attracting 500 visitors a day would be 1 Dollar a day for a text link.

Given that most advertisers are keen on PR, are there different fares for PR5 vs. PR4 common?

I would use the homepage for the link and limit the number of outbound links to a maximum of 10.

I don't know much about the area, but roughly speaking those that want the link for traffic don't bother too much about PR and those that care about PR care less about the traffic.

There's probably specialist forums that might be of more help to you than here...

If 100 visitors sent to the advertiser's site worth more than one doller. 500 visitor page atleast requires 5% CTR to the advertiser's site to equal one doller(however depends on the industry I have taken the low paying industry), which is very difficult.

Many webmasters value links by PageRank. Quite frankly, I think that metric is irrelevant and outmoded. But that's what you're up against.

Because text links have to be purchased in quantity, you're not going to be seeing especially high rates. It just doesn't make sense to the average link buyer to spend fifty dollars per month on a single link when what he needs to compete is several hundred or thousand links, and still expect to turn a profit. That's the background you have to take into account when valuing your link.

Yes. It also depends on how many link buyers are in your niche. If theres a lot then charge more, if there arnt many charge less.

Start high with your proposal on price, if the link buyer doesn't bite then just go down in price.
