The amount of links allowed on one page

I have an article page on my site and have about 45 articles on it. Till the number of articles has reached 30, there were no problems with it, but after 31st article strange things began to happen. All articles after 30th gained no PR, the internal links of my site began to disappear and the traffic declined.
So my questions would be:

How many links are allowed to be on one page in order it not to be considered as a junk page?
And are there any other reasons that could cause problems I have mentioned before?

Thanks in advance

Cheers,
Donatas

I personally do not know if there is a strict limit. However, I have seen webasters defining their link buildingguidelines saying, 'link page should not contain more than 30 links'.

yeah, there is no limit on it, over placed external links won't affect your site but others.

Strange isn't it? I have deleted a few links on that page and my links came back. So I thing there is a reason to think that there is a link limit to be placed on one page. :?
